    The Reading League CT, Decoding Dyslexia CT, UConn Waterbury and University of St. Joseph invite you to free private screenings of the documentary "The Truth About Reading”.

     

    WHAT ARE THESE EVENTS?

    The documentary film, The Truth About Reading, looks at the illiteracy problem in America, highlighting people who learned to read as adults, and sharing proposed solutions for working towards a future where every child learns to read proficiently. Literacy experts from across America, including Emily Hanford of Sold a Story: How Teaching Kids to Read Went So Wrong and Lacey Robinson of UnboundEd, emphasize the seriousness of the illiteracy crisis and share how the implementation of science and evidence-based practices can transform lives and ensure that every child learns how to read.

    WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

    If you have school-aged children, teach elementary grade children, especially ELA or reading, or are a student interested in the U.S. education system / teaching, this documentary is a must see!
