    Office of Student Financial Aid Services

    The University of Connecticut (UConn) seeks applicants for the position of Temporary University Specialist for the Office of Student Financial Aid Services based on the Storrs campus.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Process financial aid documents.
    • Review and adjust financial aid offers in PeopleSoft.
    • Determine student need eligibility.
    • Respond to student and parent inquiries.
    • Complete other tasks as assigned to support office needs.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Minimum one year of higher education related experience.
    • Knowledge of financial aid regulations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent counseling and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, the public, the university community, and external constituencies.
    • Ability to work independently and under time constraints.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Preference given to candidates with experience using an automated financial aid system (e.g., PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.).

    APPOINTMENT TERMS

    This position is 40 hours per week. The salary is a minimum of $22.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. The appointment term is six months with the possibility of extension dependent upon program needs and available funding.
