This Spring (2023) we will be reintroducing our Pre-Engineering Program (PEP). This program is an amazing opportunity and it is open to all and especially underrepresented 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
The Pre - Engineering Program is a weekly enrichment program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students that includes hands-on STEM exploratory activities. This year, we have changed our program to elevate our different equity or diversity focused organizations (such as National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, etc). Each week will be hosted by a different organization in person at the UConn Storrs Campus.
Program Dates:
· Day 1: Saturday January 28th, 2023
· Day 2: Saturday February 4th, 2023
· Day 3: Saturday February 11th, 2023
· Day 4: Saturday February 18th, 2023
· Day 5: Saturday February 25th, 2023
Program Times 10 am - 1 pm (plus transportation time)
- 2 hours of STEM engagement
- 1 hour of mentoring and community building
- Lunch will be provided!
- If multiple students from your schools sign up, we are able to provide transportation to/from your schools if needed. More information about transportation will be provided after the holiday season.
Cost:
- $100 for one child
- $75 for two or more children (friends or relatives)
- Program fee waivers are available for families with financial need! Cost should NOT be a barrier to participation!
