  • Passing of UConn Student Christopher Raccio

    It is with sadness that we share the loss of a valued member of our community, Christopher Raccio. Christopher passed away unexpectedly on 12/5/2022. He was a non-degree seeking student, hoping to pursue a degree in Economics.

    For those wishing to pay their respects to Christopher’s family, the memorial service will be on 12/17/2022 from 10:30am-11:30pm at Living Rock Church, 138 CT-81, Killingworth, CT, 06419.     Student Health & Wellness Mental Health Services is available to provide support to students who may be struggling.     Staff in the Dean of Students Office are available to meet with you. To schedule an appointment, please call the office at 860-486-3426 to schedule a meeting with one of our Assistant Deans.

    This is a difficult time for the University as we navigate the many emotions we may feel after experiencing the loss of another community member. In addition to the sadness of this immediate incident, we are aware that tragedy may trigger our own personal histories of loss and grief. Staff and faculty are encouraged to reach out to UConn’s Employee Assistance Program if they are in need of support.

    This is a difficult time for the Raccio family. Our deepest sympathies go out to the Christopher’s family and friends during this time of loss.
