  • 11/10 Duo 2FA Required for Account Access

The Duo 2FA requirement for access to online accounts and classroom computers goes into effect tomorrow, November 10th. Below are the most common scenarios and what will happen. For all cases, make sure to bring a charged device, like your phone, with you.

    • You enrolled a device and opted in to full 2FA protection.
      You are all set!
    • You have been using Duo for several years at UConn but did not revisit the Authentication Portal and enable full 2FA protection.
You will receive multiple Duo prompts tomorrow to sign in to services that now require 2FA, including Microsoft 365. If you have any Microsoft 365 apps open, like Outlook, OneDrive, or Teams, you will receive popups asking you to sign in again.
    • You are waiting until Nov. 10th to enable 2FA.
You will not be able to access your online accounts until you enroll a device and respond to Duo prompts. After you enter your NetID credentials into the log in screen, you will be taken through the process of adding a device to Duo. If you choose not to, you will be unable to log in to your account.

There’s still time to get ready. Go to the Authentication Portal and add a device, if you haven’t done so already, and then click “Opt in.” The entire process only takes a few minutes.
