  • Opt in to Duo 2FA before Nov. 10th

Starting on November 10th, the University will require Duo two-factor authentication (2FA) to log in to NetID Single Sign On, Microsoft 365, and centrally-scheduled classroom computers.

After you enter your NetID password for any of these services, you will receive a Duo prompt and must respond to successfully log in.

    What you should do now
We strongly recommend that everyone enable 2FA before Nov. 10th. Start by going to the Authentication Portal, and then…

    • If you are new to Duo 2FA, first add a device and then opt in.

    • If you already have Duo 2FA, click “Opt in to 2FA.”

What happens if you wait until Nov. 10th
Full 2FA protection will be automatically turned on for online services and classroom computers. If you…

    • Have a 2FA device but did not opt in: You will begin to receive Duo prompts on the device when you log in to online services, including your email, and sign in to classroom computers.

    • Have not added a device: For online services, you will be taken through the process of adding a device before access is granted. You will be unable to sign in to classroom computers, and enrollment is not automatic. You will have to use a different device to go to the Authentication Portal and add a device at that time.
