  • Assistant Dean for Student & Postdoctoral Affairs

    Greetings,

    As you may know, The Graduate School currently has an Assistant Dean for Student and Postdoctoral Affairs position available. There were several impressive candidates who applied to the position and the members of the search committee have narrowed the pool down to their top three (3) candidates. 

    As part of the interview process, each candidate has been asked to present/discuss their “Vision for Graduate and Postdoctoral Education at UConn”.  The presentations will be held in the Dodd Konover Auditorium on the below dates/times. There will be time after the presentation for questions and answers. 

    The first candidate, Wallace Southerland III, is the current Associate Dean of Students and Director, Office of Minority Student Affairs (http://illinois.edu/ds/search?search=wallace+southerland&search_type=all&skinId=0) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Dr. Southerland will present on the afternoon of Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00. 

    The second candidate, Victoria Blodgett, is the current Director, Graduate Career Services; Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale University.  Dr. Blodgett will present on the afternoon of Monday, May 5, 2014 from 1:15 to 2:15.

    The third candidate, Melanie Sinche, is the current Director of the FAS Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (http://www.postdoc.harvard.edu/) at Harvard University.  Dr. Sinche will present on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2:00 to 3:00.
