“What Can an Economist Possibly Have to Say about Climate Policy?”

Please join us for an in-person Teale lecture, on Thursday, October 13 at 4:00pm in the Konover Auditorium in the Dodd Center on the UConn Storrs campus.

After receiving his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University in 1988 and joining the Harvard Kennedy School thereafter, Dr. Stavins has taught numerous courses on environmental and natural resources economics and policy. In his vast work on climate change policy (in the USA and globally), he has focused on subjects related to (e.g.) market-based policy instruments, regulatory impact analysis, pollution-control technologies, costs of carbon sequestration. Stavin’s work aims to apply economic methods and models to solutions for current real-world problems.

In addition to serving as the A.J. Meyer Professor of Energy & Economic Development at Harvard University, Robert Stavins also serves as the Director of the Harvard Environmental Economics Program, Director of Graduate Studies for the Doctoral Program in Public Policy and the Doctoral Program in Political Economy and Government, Co-Chair of the Harvard Business School-Kennedy School Joint Degree Programs, and Director of the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements.

Although the talk will be in-person, it is also available to watch (live) on WebEX. The live stream link is on the Teale Series web page: https://cese.uconn.edu/the-edwin-way-teale-lecture-series/
