  • 8/30 Fostering A Sense of Belonging Webinar

Join us for this informative webinar in honor of National Civility Month!

    Tuesday, August 30, 2022, 12:00pm – 1:00pm, Microsoft Teams

The need for affiliation and belonging is an essential human emotional need. By belonging to a group, we feel a part of something larger and more important than ourselves. Satisfying the need for belonging is centered on acceptance, attention, and support from members of the group. The need to belong to a group also can lead to changes in behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes as people strive to conform to the standards and norms of the group.

When people have a sense of belonging, they feel included, leading to more meaning in life. Therefore, belonging and attachment to co-workers is an important factor in considering leaving or staying in their current position.

Employees who have a sense of belonging and inclusion in the workplace are 3.5 times more likely to contribute their full potential. Learn strategies to cultivate a sense of belonging for oneself and understand what organizations can do to foster a culture of belonging.

Presented by Deer Oaks EAP in collaboration with Human Resources as part of the August Well-Being Programs.
