    Registration Specialist/Coordinator :

    This position provides administrative and program support to the Registrar's Office on the UConn Avery Point Campus. Under the direction of the Director of Academic Affairs, performs a variety of administrative duties and assists with administrative matters; serves as initial contact for students, faculty, and external agencies. Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative in performing the full range of duties within the context of previously designed procedures and systems. Dependent upon the incumbent's experience and level of technical skill as determined by the University, the position will be filled at either the Registration Coordinator (payroll title: Student Services Program Support 2) or the more advanced Registration Specialist (payroll title: Registrar Specialist) level.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serves as a resource to faculty, administration, students, parents, and others regarding scheduling, student records and record-keeping, data retention, student registration, and associated policies and procedures. 
    • Reviews records and data for accuracy, reconciles differences, and works with other staff and University offices to identify errors and make corrections. 
    • Assists in the maintenance and modification of complex filing and record-keeping systems. 
    • Maintains records and prepares necessary reports. 
    • Stays abreast of changes to University policies and procedures and provides education and outreach regarding policies. 
    • Maintains the accuracy and integrity of academic records.  
    • Monitors compliance with applicable University policy and by-laws, state and federal regulatory guidance and legislation, and regional accreditation requirements. 
    • Troubleshoots, researches, and resolves problems of a routine nature. 
    • Anticipates and solves procedural problems resulting from policy changes. 
    • Works closely with other staff in the Storrs Registrar’s Office and other University offices to ensure smooth coordination and accuracy of information. 
    • Provides exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other University officials.  
    • Represents the Office and the registrar function on various campus and University-wide committees. 
    • Performs related work as required.


    Admissions Officer 2:

    The successful candidate will serve as a representative of the University of Connecticut to prospective students, school counselors, and other relevant parties in support of new undergraduate enrollment initiatives. The individual will also participate in application review, which includes the assessment of applicants for admission, scholarships, honors, and other programs.  Admissions Officers perform duties related to the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of undergraduates in accordance with University and departmental policies.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develops and promotes undergraduate student recruitment and outreach efforts for UConn Avery Point. Actively participates in recruiting students through promotional activities such as personal contact with counselors, students individually and in groups, schedules visits to high school and college fairs, panel discussions, presentations, and newsletters. Plans and executes all prospective student and admitted student events. 
    • Evaluates and processes admissions applications in accordance with University policies, goals, and rules on the admissibility of undergraduate students. Specifically, interprets admission policies and responds to inquiries about academic programs, campus life, and requirements making appropriate referrals, as necessary. 
    • Advises prospective applicants, parents, and counselors regarding admissions requirements, academic and athletic eligibility, program options, residency requirements, course and credit equivalencies, and alternative educational choices where appropriate.  Coordinates to ensure UConn representation at college fairs, high school visits, panel presentations, and recruitment activities in the assigned region. 
    • Serves as team leader for first-year application review for UConn Avery Point.
    • Delivers individual marketing and recruiting strategies and special programs to meet enrollment goals, utilizing current market and demographic data and research techniques.
    • Designs and edits multi-media informational and promotional materials to support campus promotion and overall recruitment efforts.
    • Keeps informed regarding academic program requirements, enrollment restrictions, and other issues related to recruiting and admitting students. 
    • Engages in extensive in-state travel to recruit prospective students. 
    • Assists in maintaining and updating admissions records and compiles admissions reports as directed. 
    • Serves as the primary contact for UConn Avery Point and as a resource to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, educators, and the University community. 
    • Collaborates with the Student Services Unit to support events, programming, and Orientation programming that all work to support recruitment and retention efforts at Avery Point.  
    • Performs related duties as assigned.


    Administrative Program Support 2– Campus Operations

    Working under the general direction of the Business Operations Manager, the successful candidate will assist in managing a number of administrative and fiscal functions for the Avery Point Campus.  

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collects, records, and deposits all student fees and other monies due to the regional campus including non-student fee transactions. Accounting for all monies received and reconciling accounts. 
    • Maintains all fiscal records for the Department including payroll records, purchasing, travel, and other disbursements. 
    • Independently prepares and/or edits standard correspondence and reports containing information that requires thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and data sources. 
    • Devises, modifies, and/or supervises the maintenance of record-keeping systems, as required for compliance. 
    • Transmits authoritative information and serves as a resource to students and/or parents on student fee bills.  May present on these topics at New Student Orientations. 
    • Processes fiscal paperwork including but not limited to procurement, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions. Maintains and monitors Department/unit budget and records. 
    • Assists supervisor and others in resolving budget and other business problems related to Department/unit operations. 
    • Within established practice, handles administrative matters for supervisor and makes decisions in supervisor’s absence. 
    • May represent supervisor to other University offices, the public, or outside organizations to gather or transmit information that affects the operations of the Department/unit. 
    • Review administrative and internal operating procedures for efficiency and effectiveness and recommends improvements; establishes procedures to implement operational and/or fiscal policies. 
    • As needed or assigned, may be responsible for special short-term or ongoing projects that require planning, coordination, and supervision. 
    • Supervises, trains, and evaluates student staff as needed.
    • Performs related duties as required.
