  • 7/22 Bug Week 2022 - Parasite Day

    SAVE THE DATE FOR PARASITE DAY!
     
    Join us on Friday, 22 July 2022 from 12 – 4 pm in the Biology/Physics Building on the UConn Storrs campus to explore the wonderful, under-appreciated world of parasites!
     
    As part of UConn Extension’s Bug Week 2022, the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History (CSMNH), will host activities and displays for all ages for Parasite Day!
    • Learn what a parasite is
    • Become a dog parasite detective
    • Learn how to check for ticks and fleas with K9 Officers Tildy and Carson
    • See examples of the awesome diversity of parasites from real natural history specimens
    • Win parasite-related prizes
    • Tour the Biodiversity Research Collections and visit parasitic plants in the UConn EEB Greenhouses
    • Learn about the Nest Parasite Community Science project
    • Enjoy a free cup of parasite-themed ice cream from the UConn Dairy Bar
