    Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce that Ngozi Taffe has been appointed Associate Vice President for Global Affairs effective July 2.

Ngozi assumes this new role following the retirement of Yuhang Rong after 28 plus years of outstanding and dedicated service to the university and other state agencies.

Prior to Ngozi’ s recent appointment, she served as the Assistant Vice President for Global Affairs where her responsibilities included the oversight and development of Experiential Global Learning Programs, Risk, and Program assessment.

Ngozi is a three-time alumna of UConn, where she earned a BS in Management Information Systems, an MBA, and studied Global Business Strategy in Lyon, France. Ngozi also earned a Ph.D. in Learning, Leadership and Education Policy at the Neag School of Education.

Before to returning to the UConn in 2014, Ngozi spent 18 years of her career working for the former United Technologies Corporation (Raytheon Technologies) and Computer Sciences Corporation in positions of increased responsibility, including working on commercial and military projects, global project implementations with various facilities overseas.

Please join me in congratulating Ngozi and in thanking Yuhang for his service to UConn. Following his retirement, Yuhang will continue to serve the office of Global Affairs as UConn’s Senior Leader to Universitas 21, working on strategic initiatives and projects including the state partnership with the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and developing partnerships in East and Southeast Asia.

    Sincerely,

    Daniel Weiner
