  • 27 Pay Periods and Benefit Deductions

The current fiscal year (FY22) has 27 pay periods, rather than the standard 26. The Office of the State Comptroller calculates paycheck deductions for medical benefits on a 26-paycheck schedule. As such, employees will not see medical deductions from paycheck 7/1/22 (pay period end date 6/16/22).

Also, please note, effective 7/1/22 all employees who qualify for subsidized health benefits now pay the same bi-weekly rate, regardless of hire date or union affiliation. This bi-weekly rate change does not apply to Graduate Assistants or Postdoctoral Research Associates who are participants in the CT Partnership Plan.
