  • 5/17 Demographic Change and Higher Education

Between 2010 and 2020, population growth in the United States reached one of its lowest points in history, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the situation. These developments pose questions about future enrollment and the consequences for academic disciplines.

To discuss the implications of demographic change for International Studies, the International Studies Association has invited the following panelists:

Nizar Messari - Associate Professor, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Al Akhawayn University, Morocco
Jessica Lillian De Alba-Ulloa - Research Professor, Universidad Anahuac Mexico, School of Global Studies
Jeremy Youde - Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, University of Minnesota, Duluth, United States
Gigi Gokcek - Dean, School of Liberal Arts and Education and Professor of Political Science, Dominican University of California, United States *CHAIR*
