The Chemistry Department presents:
"Chemical Biology of DNA Damage and Repair"
Abstract:
Our lab focuses on the mutational properties of DNA lesions generated from environmental carcinogens and chemotherapeutic drugs. By using a combination of tools from chemistry, molecular biology, and genetics, we hope to construct mutational spectra and repair maps of DNA damaging agents. These works may provide strategies to prevent diseases caused by toxins or to solve the problems of drug resistance in cancer.
