    Graduate Assistantship | Assistant Director, Writing Center Call for Applications 

    2022-23 Academic Year | 20 hours/week

    The Assistant Director is involved in all aspects of writing center administration and serves on a leadership team that includes two faculty members, a program administrator, and another graduate Assistant Director. Duties include recruiting, training, and mentoring writing tutors; managing selected in-house projects and interdepartmental partnerships; assisting with assessment and research; and handling other duties as assigned by the faculty directors. While this position is mainly administrative, Assistant Directors also do one-on-one tutoring. Successful candidates must be capable and creative project managers who are committed to undergraduate teaching, peer education, writing across the curriculum, cross-disciplinary collaboration, diversity, and access. Preferred qualifications include a research agenda that involves writing studies, peer learning, undergraduate education, and/or diversity and equity. Our assistantships offer rich apprenticeships in academic program administration.
