“The development of light-matter interactions for quantum control”
Dr. Daniel McCarron, University of Connecticut
The harnessing of light-matter interactions has enabled exquisite control of quantum systems and led to significant breakthroughs in science and technology over the past 40 years. Examples include quantum degenerate gases, simulations of complex materials, improved atomic clocks and table-top probes of fundamental symmetries. This talk will highlight the key contributions of Professors Phillip Gould and Juha Javanainen within the development of this field and relate their work to current state-of-the-art research pursued at UConn and elsewhere.
Please join us from 2:30PM-3:30PM for a special catered reception prior to the event. It will be held at the outdoor Physics deck, or at the Light Court in the event of inclement weather.
