  • 4/1 Tomorrow Drama & Dance Workshop at UConn/Stamford

    Please announce to your classes:

Have you ever wanted to see what it's like to be in on the ground floor of a New York theatrical production? Have you ever wanted to explore theater and dance but never had the opportunity to do so? Would you like to interact with other students while participating in a free, performing arts program at UConn/Stamford?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then come to our Drama & Dance Creative Workshop on April 1st at 2:30 pm in the Schreiber Reading Room (2nd floor). Felice Lesser, Adjunct Professor of Dance, needs students to participate in a workshop for her new play TRAP IST, which will be premiered in New York City in November.

TRAP IST is Lesser’s multi-media, science fiction fantasy with a full-length script, live dance, video and interactive technology. As a nuclear holocaust destroys earth, an egomaniacal A.I transports a group of dancers (and the audience) to the seemingly uninhabited Trappist 1-e to serve as its slaves in developing it. The humans revolt against their A.I. captor. But soon we learn there is another force at play in this battle.

During the workshop we will read scenes from the play, and experiment with how audience members will experience it. (The actual audience plays an important part in the work.)

No prior experience in theater or dance is required.

Please RSVP to Ms. Lesser at the email address below, so she will know how many students to expect.
