    will speak on

Investigating uncertainty and heterogeneity in disease modeling for decision making

Dr. Jo earned her Ph.D. in Health Systems Program in the Department of International Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her thesis research was about cost-effectiveness and scalability of an mHealth program, which uses mobile phones to improve pregnancy surveillance and care seeking of essential maternal and newborn health service in rural Bangladesh. Thus far, her research has contributed to identifying the specific epidemic and health systems conditions and threshold points in which an intervention can achieve its optimal cost-effectiveness at scale or by targeting subpopulations.

Dr. Jo’s work focuses on applying mathematical modeling and implementation science to improve access, efficiency, equity, and financial sustainability of the health systems. She uses data insights to inform strategic decision making and analyzes key performance metrics to identify value propositions, scale operations and drive impact. She is currently working on infectious diseases transmission, service delivery modeling and health economics projects.
