    We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Glasgow as Associate Vice President for Research/Sponsored Programs in the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) following a nationwide search.

    Mr. Glasgow most recently served as Executive Director of  Grant and Contract Administration (GCA) at Yale University. While at Yale, he directed the reorganization of GCA, resulting in significant improvements in turnaround times for the processing of grants, contracts, research agreements, and sub-awards. 

    Prior to Yale, Mr. Glasgow was at the University of Virginia for eighteen years serving in various roles including Assistant Vice President for Research Administration, where he led a comprehensive re-engineering of sponsored program administration, developed education programs for faculty and staff and provided leadership in research administration.

    Mr. Glasgow will lead UConn’s sponsored research grants and contracts services unit in support of the faculty’s research, scholarly activities, and creative endeavors. He will also work in partnership with other University offices in support of the University’s mission to maintain and grow the research enterprise of UConn and help expand support to faculty from funding agencies, organizations, and businesses within the state and around the nation and world.

     Mr. Glasgow’s appointment commences March 31, 2014.  Please join us in welcoming him to the UConn community.
