    International Student Welcome Team

The international student welcome team is made up of UConn students, faculty and staff who come to Storrs campus to help our Storrs international first year students move in to their on-campus housing and get settled before international student orientation in August.

    ISSS Grad Buddy Program

The ISSS Grad Buddy Program matches current enrolled graduate students (from all campuses) with new incoming graduate students.  Grad buddies meet with their new students virtually before arriving in the U.S. and in-person after arriving to start their degree program with the intention of making new graduate students feel welcomed and supported and helping ease the transition to life in the U.S.

    ISSS Student Advisory Board

The ISSS Student Advisory Board was created to build relationships and foster improved communication between international students, ISSS and the University community. Student members are selected from a variety of academic programs and backgrounds and serve as a voice for the international student community on matters related to the international student experience. This is a great volunteer leadership opportunity for UConn students who are interested in helping fellow international students at UConn through their liaison role with ISSS.

    ISSS Orientation Assistant

ISSS needs current students to help us run International Graduate Student Orientation at Storrs Campus every fall and spring semester. ISSS orientation assistants will lead campus tours, help answer new student questions and moderate student panels.

    Monthly Coffee Hour Presenter

Travel with us to a new place every month! ISSS Coffee Hour brings together students, staff and faculty to enjoy some refreshments and learn more about a country, culture or student group through an informal and fun presentation.  ISSS is always looking for students willing to share about their home country, traditions, holidays and language.  Presenting at an ISSS coffee hour is a great way to gain public speaking practice and to network with other students/staff on your presentation.

    WorldFest Planning Committee

UConn Worldfest is an annual event to celebrate the University’s international community and raise awareness of the many cultures, traditions and talents of our students and scholars. Join us for this fabulous event where you can watch performances, meet students, learn about opportunities for global engagement, and show your support for our diverse community!
