After more than 36 years of dedicated service to the University of Connecticut, Bob Hopson retired from the University on March 1, 2022. Bob began employment with the Alumni Association in August 1985, before transitioning to the role of Admissions Officer in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in December 1997. Over the years, Bob’s responsibilities evolved to include oversight of residency to enforce State of Connecticut statutes for the purpose of in-state tuition eligibility for Connecticut residents and working closely with Athletics and Athletic Compliance. Additionally, Bob served as the liaison to Ratcliffe Hicks School of Agriculture. Not only did Bob build strong relationships with students and school counselors in his assigned recruitment territory of New York City, but also with on and off campus partners as well.
In honor of Bob’s retirement, a celebration will be held on March 15 from 3-5 p.m. in the lobby of the Innovation Partnership Building (IPB) at UConn Tech Park.
