An Cumann Gaelach (Irish Language Society) are very excited for our big culture night celebrations!
We'll be kicking things off in the Basement of Wood Hall at 5pm on March 10th, and we have some jam packed plans!
First up, we will be joined by Samantha Gove of the Native American Cultural Programs here at UConn for a mini-workshop on Minoritized Languages, where you will learn a little bit of Irish and Algonquian and get an understanding of the history of both languages and cultures.
Following this, we will have some céili dancing and an open mic session. So if you play an instrument, want to recite a poem or sing a song, we would love to have you perform!
We will also have a discussion about traditions here in New England and in Ireland for St.Patrick's Day. We will also have refreshments, so bígí linn!
