The Division of Student Affairs is pleased to announce the promotion of Dennis Pierce, current Director of Dining Services. Dennis’ title will change to Executive Director of Dining Services and he will report to the Vice President for Student Affairs. This change in status recognizes the considerable growth of the scope of Dining Services operations over the last 8 years. Some of the new ventures, in addition to current operations, include the Co-op Café, the café in the new Storrs downtown bookstore, a convenience store, a 9 million dollar renovation to McMahon’s dining facility, a centralized Catering Production facility, and a Dining Services program coming online at the Avery point campus – just to name a few. Future projects include adding a 700 seat dining facility associated with the construction of a new Honors Living-Learning Community, a renovation of Putnam Refectory, assuming management and operation of Coffee Concept at the Waterbury Campus, and a dining program at both the new downtown Hartford site as well as the UConn Law School. Please join us in congratulating Dennis for this well-deserved recognition of the stellar and constantly improving dining operations that serve UConn under Dennis’ leadership.
