As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Language Week) and St. Patrick's Day celebrations, join us on March 9th at 9am in the Storrs Building (Room 117) as we hear from Chris Kervick, local historian and former Windsor Locks First Selectman + Mike Enright, President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Hartford Division #2 (CLAS '88, UConn Communications) speak about the upcoming unveiling of the Irish Canal Workers Memorial in Windsor Locks, CT.
We will hear about the history behind the memorial and the importance of commemorating those who built canals across Connecticut and New England. If you have an interest in Irish American history, local Connecticut history or in hearing some amazing stories, you don't want to miss out!
