  • Workers Compensation Medical Treatment Guidelines

If an injured employee needs emergency medical treatment, they should dial 911 or seek treatment at the closest emergency facility. In the case of a non-emergency workplace injury, employees are required to visit a designated initial treatment provider. If the injured employee chooses not to visit the designated initial treatment provider or treats outside the Workers’ Compensation provider network, they may risk suspension of their benefits per order of the Workers’ Compensation Commission. The injured employee may choose an attending physician AFTER the initial visit from the State of CT Workers’ Compensation provider network.

For a complete list of in network providers, please visit the following website: PHS Provider Search (primehealthservices.com)

    **Storrs Supervisors and Employees**

The closest in-network initial treatment provider to the Storrs campus is Hartford Health Care Walk-in Center located at 1703 West Main Street Willimantic, CT 06226. Due to staffing shortages, it is advised that employees seeking medical treatment at this facility late in the day call 860.456.5000 to ensure that they can be seen. Employees who cannot be seen have the option of choosing another facility in the initial care network or may seek treatment at an emergency department.
