The General Education Oversight Committee (GEOC) seeks new faculty members to serve on its subcommittees, particularly in the areas of CA2 - Social Sciences, and the Quantitative (Q) Competency. Potential members can be from any campus and any department, but will ideally be fulltime faculty, both tenured and non-tenured. Adjunct faculty may be considered in some cases.
GEOC subcommittees predominantly review course requests via email, although virtual and (eventually) in-person meetings may be needed under certain rare circumstances. Time commitment varies by Gen Ed area and time of the semester.
Please note that subcommittee members do not sit on the main committee, only subcommittee co-chairs. However, subcommittee members may often be asked first to fill open co-chair positions.
