  • Margaret "Meg" Malmborg Retirement

Enrollment Planning & Management celebrates the achievements of Margaret “Meg” Malmborg, Director of the Lodewick Visitors Center, who is retiring from UConn effective June 30, 2021.

Meg arrived at UConn in 1999 with the specific task of establishing a premier visitation program at the LVC. Meg’s contributions to UConn began with LVC construction planning to enactment of a comprehensive campus tour program with an emphasis on recruitment, hiring and training a diverse and talented student Tour Guide crew. It’s this incredible team of students that have ushered in record quality and diversity among our enrolled undergraduate students over the past two decades.

Meg was involved in myriad projects over the past two decades including implementation of dozens of activities for the University’s 125th anniversary including creation of the blue history signs and renaming of buildings in honor of Connecticut residents and alumni. She oversaw the guidelines for campus signage and map, developed an array of videos and visual presentations, and was one of the first offices to adapt to online webinars. Meg and the entire LVC didn’t skip a beat with the onset of the pandemic, and like so many, served as a superb example of the tenacious and resilient spirit of being a UConn Husky!

Meg is most grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many outstanding students, University colleagues, and the generosity of the LVC's benefactors, Philip and Christine Lodewick. She is humbled by the lessons the students taught her and the grace others extended her over the past 22 years. There is no greater honor than to serve others and upon retirement, Meg plans to immerse herself in volunteerism.
