UConn Health’s Emergency Stroke Care Conference

Target Audience: UConn Health’s Emergency Stroke Care Conference is intended for all levels of health care professional (i.e. Physicians, Neurologists, Emergency Department, Hospitalists, Residents/Intern’s, RN’s, MA’s, CNA’s, EMT’s, Paramedics, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, PA’s, Administration, Stroke Team Members, Ancillary Staff, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, etc.).
This year’s theme is “Emerging Therapies in Acute Stroke Care.” We will offer a comprehensive overview of stroke from the pre-hospital setting, emergency department, neuro-critical care, post-acute hospital stay.
Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):
- Identify imaging modalities for assessment of the acute stroke patient
- Recognize acute stroke symptoms and identify atypical stroke presentation
- Understand how stroke recognition, transportation and communication to stroke center happens in real time
- Learn emerging concepts in COVID related strokes and nursing care after endovascular treatment of acute stroke patients
- Become proficient in the current concepts of acute stroke imaging and treatment
This program offers 7.25 Nursing Contact Hours for attendance at the entire program & completion of an evaluation.
The University of Connecticut School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This program offers 4 EMS CME’s for a half day and 8 EMS CME’s for full day attendance.
