  • University Senate: Nominations for Secretary

    The Senate Executive Committee is seeking self-nominations for the position of Recording Secretary of the University Senate.  This volunteer position is responsible for recording minutes for each meeting of the University Senate and making a draft of those minutes available for distribution within one week.

    The University Senate, a legislative body comprised of faculty, staff, students, and senior administrators, is responsible for establishing minimum rules and general regulations of the educational program and mission of the institution, excluding the University of Connecticut Health Center, that are not reserved to the Board of Trustees, to the administration, to the Graduate Faculty Council, or to the several faculties.  The Senate meets regularly once monthly during the academic year and otherwise in special sessions as called.  The Recording Secretary of the University Senate is elected by the Senate for a one-year term at its first meeting of the academic year (September).
