Critical Thinking Activities and Assignments
Thursday, April 1, 12:30 – 1:45
Location: A WebEx link will be emailed to registrants on the day
Presenter: Tina Huey, CETL – Faculty Development
Teaching talks are interactive sessions where you can meet other instructors to discuss a particular theme or topic related to teaching, mentoring, and course design. Unlike webinars, teaching talks are heavily shaped by participation, though they are facilitated by CETL staff and faculty affiliates who offer tools, resources, and prompts for reflection and discussion. Some topics we may consider include:
- How do you incorporate critical thinking into your course design?
- How do you build it into class time when class time already seems too short to cover all the content you want to cover?
- What are some critical literacy activities you have implemented in your classes? How did you think about assessment of them?
- How might critical pedagogies inform your teaching?
In this teaching talk we will share experiences, challenges, and activities that can be modified to fit even a small amount of class time.
