  • Nominate Int'l Student for Emergency Student Fund

    UConn has the opportunity to nominate up to five international students for grants through the Institute of International Education (IIE) Emergency Student Fund (ESF). The ESF grants award $1500 to selected international students who face high economic hardship due to COVID-19. If you are a UConn staff or faculty member and you know a UConn international student who meets the eligibility criteria and should be considered for this grant, please complete the nomination form below:

    In the nomination form, provide as detailed information as possible about how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the student’s ability to meet essential expenses. After receipt of the nomination form linked above, ISSS will reach out to the nominated student(s) and ask them to submit an additional form, to gather more information about their financial situation. If you will nominate more than one student, please submit a separate form for each student. ISSS will submit final nominations to IIE for consideration. 

    Eligibility for grant consideration:

    • Must be studying at UConn, in the United States

    • Facing financial hardship as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic 

    • Enrolled for the spring 2021 semester 

    • Have the appropriate non-immigration visa status (only F and J visa holders are eligible for an ESF award)

    Please submit your nomination to ISSS by Monday, March 15.
