The Summer Undergraduate Research Fund (SURF) Award program provides thousands of dollars in support of undergraduate students' summer research or creative projects. SURF is open to undergraduate students in all majors at all campuses who plan to graduate no earlier than December 2021. Students can apply for funding of up to $4,500.
Do you supervise undergraduate researchers interested in the SURF program? Do your students have questions about the application or the SURF program in general? Would they like to have their proposal, budget, and/or timeline reviewed? Please encourage students with questions to schedule a SURF appointment via Nexus. Students seeking feedback on draft materials should email the materials to the appropriate staff person at least 24 hours before their scheduled appointment.
