ITS is moving Filelocker off of an end-of-life server and onto a new one. This change will affect shared links and access to older files saved on the system. Below are details about the transition experience:
December 2020: any new links generated will have a variation of the URL filelockerold.uconn.edu/... Anyone who receives this link will have access to this file until February 1.
January 4: ITS moves Filelocker to the new server. The landing page for the service will be updated, but the service will function the same.
- Files with the filelockerold.uconn.edu/ URL will continue to be available until February 1.
- Any new URLs created after January 4 for sharing or requesting files will have the URL filelocker.uconn.edu and be stored on the new server.
February 1: ITS decommissions the old server, and any file stored on it will be unavailable.
We strongly recommend that you move any files you wish to keep to a file storage service, such as Microsoft OneDrive.
