  • Introducing Affinity Communities

The Center for Career Development has developed Affinity Communities, a resource center for students to connect with identity-focused groups.

Affinity Communities are identity-focused groups providing specialized content that integrates diversity, equity, and inclusion within the career development journey. More than that, these communities are a resource for students, faculty, and staff to visualize what success can look like both while in college and during the college-to-career transition. A key feature of this is the Student and Alumni Success StoriesWe strongly feel that it’s vital for students to see individuals from groups with whom they identify in positions of success. Current students, recent alumni, and further-out alumni have graciously shared their stories and given valuable advice.

With the majority of students identifying with at least one affinity community, we want all faculty and staff to know they can direct students to these pages to find student groups, events, mentors, and more. We encourage you to share this resource with students. We would also love to collaborate with you. If there is an event, resource, group, or a student to spotlight, please reach out and we will work with you to add it to our communities.
