  • Reminder: Employee Exchange Program

We write with a reminder about the Employee Exchange Program, and we encourage managers to recommend employees for participation if an employee is not currently working at 100% capacity.

Over the summer, Human Resources launched the Employee Exchange Program, recognizing that some departments were experiencing an influx in the volume of work and modified business operations based on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. To improve operations with the existing workforce, HR established the Employee Exchange Program to optimize staffing and work schedules. Managers have the opportunity to request additional support staff through an employee exchange during this unprecedented time. Of note: funding for the Exchange must come from the department seeking additional assistance.

It is the responsibility of individual managers to opt employees into the Program. Once an employee is identified, Human Resources determines eligibility and coordinates participation with the appropriate manager. Human Resources maintains a pool of eligible employees and will provide appropriate staff matches upon request.

Managers seeking an employee exchange and managers nominating an employee for exchange should reach out to Human Resources at workforce@uconn.edu
