On Friday, August 7, the University is moving exclusively to Microsoft Teams and discontinuing Skype for Business. After 6:00 pm on this date, anyone who attempts to launch Skype will be directed to use Teams. All Skype meetings created by a university host will be converted automatically to Teams meetings.
Information Technology Services (ITS) is making this change because Microsoft is retiring Skype for Business soon. Teams offers the same instant messaging and conferencing capabilities as Skype, but because it is integrated with Office 365, Teams provides more features and collaboration tools.
