The University grieves the loss of a valued member of our community. Cole Montefusco passed away in a motor vehicle accident on February 1, 2020. A senior from West Redding, Connecticut, Cole was studying Finance in the School of Business.
His stellar academic performance and talent helped him land a coveted Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst internship and a place in the Delta Sigma Pi professional business fraternity. Cole’s involvement at UConn included membership in Zeta Beta Tau a social fraternity and participation in Huskython. Cole was proud to have been selected as a morale captain for the upcoming 2020 Huskython event.
Information about services for Cole will be published in the Daily Digest when available. Condolences to the Montefusco family can be sent to the Dean of Students Office, 233 Glenbrook Road, Unit-4062, Storrs, Connecticut 06269-4062.

This is a difficult time for the University as we navigate the many emotions people have after experiencing the loss of another community member. In addition to the sadness of this immediate incident, we are aware that tragedy may trigger our own personal histories of loss and grief. Staff and faculty are encouraged to reach out to UConn’s Employee Assistance Program if they are in need of support.
This is a difficult time for UConn and for the Montefusco family. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Cole’s family and friends during this time of loss.
