On Friday, December 6th, the forces of the UConn Music Department will come together for this powerful annual event, the Messiah-Sing. For this evening, the UConn Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Festival Chorus, as well as faculty and student soloists and conductors all combine for a celebration of the season with George Fridrich Händel’s incomparable masterwork, Messiah. In this format, the orchestra and half of the large chorus are seated onstage, and the other half of the choir is seated in the audience. The audience itself joins in the singing of the choruses. Different soloists and conductors will perform for each movement and for the choruses, the conductor will face the audience and conduct fro the stage. This is an event not to be missed! Held in von der Mehden recital hall last year, the event sold out two weeks ahead of time. Get your tickets today at the Jorgensen Center for the Arts website, bring your Messiah score and sing along or just come, sit further back and enjoy this unforgettable evening of music and community!
