  • Director of Community Standards

    Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to announce that Megan Buda has accepted the role of Director of Community Standards.  Megan will begin in the role on July 5.

Megan comes to UConn after serving as the Director of Student Conduct at Quinnipiac University for the past 6 years.  During her time at Quinnipiac, Megan has developed extensive expertise in many of the areas essential for success in this role at UConn.  Specifically, Megan’s leadership at Quinnipiac is directly accountable for the University’s collaborative work across departments and increased efficiencies in Title IX related conduct matters. Prior to her current position, Megan served at Quinnipiac in roles focusing on alcohol and drug prevention and residential life.

As the Director of Community Standards, Megan will report directly to me and serve as a member of my senior leadership team.  Megan will provide leadership and management of the University’s student conduct system. Megan’s leadership will include coordinating and implementing a comprehensive educational process to help University community members fully understand and uphold their individual and group rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Responsibilities of Community Living: The Student Code.

I am grateful to the many individuals who participated in the interview and recruitment process for this important position.  Through your feedback, I believe we are bringing to UConn an individual whose talent directly reflects our goals for student success.

Finally, enough cannot be said about the leadership provided by David Clokey as Chair of the search committee as well as Stacey Murdock and Janice Caniff for their tremendous support throughout the process. I am particularly thankful to the talented staff in Community Standards and to John Armstrong for the leadership he has provided as Interim Director.

Please join me in welcoming Megan to UConn.
