The University of Connecticut has secured special Top Hat pricing for students who are asked to purchase this software for a course. This agreement was signed because some faculty had started using Top Hat and ask that we obtain a lower price for their students. To obtain this pricing or use the software, you should not be required to sign any agreements with Top Hat.
For courses utilizing Top Hat, the cost of the product is paid by the students. Through this pricing agreement, the price for University of Connecticut students is:
Semester: $24
Annual: $35
4-year: $70

Support for this product is provided by Top Hat, rather than through ITS or CETL. If you are interested in learning about Top Hat please reach out to them directly by emailing Aly Kaba at aly.kaba@tophat.com or booking directly using their virtual calendar: https://meetme.so/TopHatAlyKaba.
If you have questions or concerns about the Top Hat pricing agreement, please do not hesitate to reach out to CETL’s Educational Technology department at edtech@uconn.edu.
*Please note that HuskyCT-based testing remains available free of charge. Training is available through CETL’s Educational Technology.
** Please note that if you are only interested in using Top Hat for polling, CETL continues to provide training on how to use iClickers and the bookstore continues to sell the bundle containing a physical iClicker plus 5-years of iClicker Cloud REEF polling for $55. The use of iClicker eliminates the need to own or bring a smartphone or computer to class. To eliminate or reduce the cost of an iClicker, students can share iClickers or purchase a used device.
