  • 3/30 L.I.D. Annual Multicultural Education Conference

Leadership in Diversity (L.I.D.) would like to invite you to their Annual Multicultural and Culturally Sustaining Teaching Conference. The conference will be held on Saturday, March 30th from 8:30a.m. to 4:00p.m. in Oak Hall. The conference is FREE and will feature Michael Bonner as the keynote speaker and a performance by EPIC Theatre Ensemble

The theme this year, Forging Ahead in Teacher Ed, was inspired by their time at the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) Conference in Memphis, Tennessee this past November. During this time, they were able to march to the Lorraine Motel where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated 50 years ago. Dr. King's dedication and committment to positive change inspired and encouraged them to continue the fight in progressing in education. The aim of the conference is to provide the same encouragement to educators and professionals continuing in the profession.

This conference is for professions in the education field, current students in teacher prep programs, and those interested in the field of education. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend breakout session on a variety of topics related to multicultural education and culturally sustaining teaching.

Please register here for the conference by March 26th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at leadershipindiversity@gmail.com.
