Dear Colleagues,
As you may know, Kimberly Fearney served as Director of Compliance within the Office of Audit, Compliance & Ethics (OACE) from 2011 to December 2017, when she was named interim Associate Vice President/Chief Compliance Officer. This followed a reorganization completed in consultation with the Board of Trustees Joint Audit and Compliance Committee (JACC).
In the year that she has served as interim Chief Compliance Officer, Kim quickly and efficiently organized this new unit, and very effectively carried out a wide variety of complex and highly consequential compliance services on behalf of the university, both in Storrs and at UConn Health.
In doing so, she has demonstrated superior capability and leadership, which is essential for this position, and continued to earn the trust and confidence of our colleagues, and me as president.
In light of her outstanding performance of her duties on an interim basis, I am pleased to confirm Kim’s permanent appointment as Associate Vice President/Chief Compliance Officer at UConn.
