  • 10/3 ARTS Project Artist's Talk with Richard Heys

       

          Torrington – On Thursday, October 3rd 2013 at 7:00pm, wood-turner and sculptor Richard Heys will give a talk at the University of Connecticut Torrington. Heys’ talk is in conjunction with his UConn show

    What’s In There? that features numerous sculpted objects on view in the university’s Whitson Gallery. Also on view in the Brick Wall Exhibition Space are two series of black and white photographs that chronicle the making of two of his lathe-turned pieces that are included in the display of work in the Whitson Gallery. Heys will discuss his creative process, and how he became involved in making art after having a distinguished career in chemical and pharmaceutical research. Sponsored by the ARTS Project, the talk will be held in the Whitson Gallery, followed by a reception for the artist.  The event is free and open to the public. artsproject.uconn.edu
