In support of the One UConn initiative and a charge to better align University resources and consolidate functions, I would like to share certain recent organizational changes within the Office of the EVPACFO.
Logistics, Mail Services, Parking & Transportation and Motor Pool will report into Facilities Operations and Building Services (FOBS), under the leadership of Mike Jednak. Also, FOBS’s name will be adjusted to "Facilities Operations" to reflect the integration of all responsibility for operations of the University's physical assets.
Internal business needs for all campuses will now be served by a newly established single, unified office, the “Office of University Business Services” (UBS), led by Matt Larson. UBS will include the alignment of the procurement services operations at all campuses, including the main campus in Storrs, the regional campuses and UConn Health. The following areas now report into UBS: Supply Chain Management, Surplus Operations, and Design & Document Production Center (Reprographics). Additionally, UBS will be the sole point of intake for Travel Services.
These changes will allow the University to provide enhanced customer service, strategically manage and negotiate travel relationships and contracts, and streamline booking processes. Personal and travel reimbursement will remain under the leadership of Controller Charlie Eaton, managed by Accounts Payable Director Dan Warren.
These changes will be seamless to our customers. In the coming months, UBS and the Controller will be building a new Travel Services Office that will provide an improved experience for travelers. I anticipate that these changes will help provide the structure through which UConn can provide more efficient, streamlined customer service across the entire UConn community.
