The eastern end of Jim Calhoun Way will be closed starting the afternoon of Thursday, April 12, into the late evening as part of the SUBOG Spring Concert event, the UCONNIC Music Festival.
The music and recreation event, coordinated annually by the Student Union Board of Governors, takes place this year in and around Gampel Pavilion.
Jim Calhoun Way will be closed on Thursday, April 12, from about 3:30 p.m. into late evening to accommodate the event, which will is expected to draw almost 5,000 people.
It will include a lineup of food trucks along the closed portion of Jim Calhoun Way, along with recreation activities nearby and the concert inside Gampel starting at 6 p.m.
Signs will be posted to alert drivers of the Jim Calhoun Way road closure. The University’s shuttle bus service routes will be detoured accordingly.
After 3:30 p.m., those leaving the first level of the South Garage will have to turn left onto Jim Calhoun Way. The garage’s fifth floor exit to Hillside Road will be unaffected.
