Interested in the complexities of clean energy? The intersection of politics, environmental law and economics? UConn's Clean Energy Society is forming!

Liam Enea, a sophomore ARE major, is establishing a new extracurricular group that focuses on the energy sector and renewable power generation. With regulatory exploration paving the way for large-scale demand response programs, solar-plus-storage, virtual power plants, innovative ratemaking, community solar, and Community Choice Aggregation in Connecticut, a group of this type could bring greater student education and advocacy to the brand-new field. These developments could drastically reduce emissions, decentralize and fortify the grid, and lower ratepayers' bills. He discussed these innovations in a recent Connecticut Mirror op-ed.

Clean Energy Society will meet once a week to learn and discuss sector-related developments and craft events and initiatives (including legislative testimony) designed to raise awareness of them. The Society is open to all students and backgrounds and will convene soon! Please email Liam below for more information or to join!
