  • Enrolling Participants - Chronic Low Back Pain

    PARTICIPANTS NEEDED for a paid research study!

    The Physical Activity to Heal Low Back Pain (PATH) Study will evaluate the benefits of movement exercise for someone experiencing back pain. Do you have chronic low back pain? We are currently recruiting participants for a paid research study that is evaluating the benefits of movement and a physical activity intervention among people with chronic low back pain.

    You will receive 12 weeks of free movement-based sessions. In a community setting, similar programs and classes are valued at $360 or more.

    What is asked of participants? Participation includes completing questionnaires about your plan, 12 weeks of group-based classes twice per week to learn and practice a physical activity intervention, providing a blood sample, practicing 20 minutes per day at home, and making 5 in-person visits.

    Am I eligible? You may be eligible if you are:

    • Male or female, age 18+
    • Have had low back pain for at least 3 of the last 6 months
    • Have not practiced movement-based exercise in the past 12 months and are willing to attend 12 weeks of movement exercises

    Will I be paid for participating? Yes, participants will receive an exercise mat and up to $300 for participation in this study. Additionally, you will receive 12 weeks of free movement-based class sessions.
