    As part of UConn Reads 2021, join the UConn Stamford Faculty Council on Friday, April 9th at 2:00pm in an open conversation about climate crisis and climate justice with our guest, Prof. Prakash Kashwan for his presentation entitle "Climate Crisis in an Unequal and Interconnected World."

    Prakash Kashwan is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Co-Director of the Research Program on Economic and Social Rights, Human Rights Institute, University of Connecticut, Storrs. He is the author of the widely reviewed and acclaimed book Democracy in the Woods: Environmental Conservation and Social Justice in India, Tanzania, and Mexico (Oxford University Press, 2017) and a Co-Editor of the journal Environmental Politics. He also serves on the editorial advisory boards of Earth Systems GovernanceProgress in Development Studies, Sage Open, and Humanities & Social Sciences Communications. He is also the co-convener of Climate Justice Network (https://www.climatejusticenetwork.org/), which he co-founded with support from American Political Science Association (APSA).
     
    Professor Kashwan teaches courses on environmental and climate justice, global environmental politics, environmental policy and institutions, and research methods. More information about his research and teaching is available at https://kashwan.net/.
