In continued efforts to enhance employee, student, and vendor safety, UConn Health is automating its entry screening. The new “Well Screen” stations are being deployed in a phased approach at the existing employee screening sites and three new locations to improve employee access. Please read through the information below to assist you in a smooth entry to our buildings.
All employees, students, and contractors with a UConn Health-issued ID badge must self-screen the first time they enter a UConn Health building for the day, then rescan their ID upon re-entry to any building. This mandatory screening is monitored daily. Over10,000+ successful self-screens have been completed at our launched entrances, including:
- Academic
- Academic Research Building (ARB)
- Administrative Services Building (ASB)
- Main Building
- Outpatient Pavilion 1 Rear
- University Tower (UT) lobby
- Sub Basement Garage 2
LAUNCH UPDATES
To accommodate everyone’s introduction and learning curve to the new device, the roll-out schedule continues accordingly:
- TODAY - Academic and ARB entrances will be available 24/7 by card access and self-screen.
Munson Road building entry requires all badged individuals to manual self-screen at the third- and first-floor entrances due to the new vaccine site opening. - Tuesday, Jan. 26 - Outpatient Pavilion 1 and 3
- Coming This Week - MSI 1, 2 and 3
- Off-site locations to follow
WELL SCREEN TIPS
- Arrive with sufficient time to complete the self-screening process, particularly during peak arrival times
- Bring your ID badge to avoid having to do a look up
- Know the automated self-screen steps:
- Hover your ID over the badge reader located on the station table directly to the left of the computer screen
- Take your temperature. Error? Lower a dark mask away from your eyes or remove a hat. No warm beverage near face
- Use your ID corner or a stylus to tap your on-screen answers - do not use fingers
GET FAMILIAR WITH WELL SCREEN
As we roll-out, the stations, employees, students, and badged contractors are encouraged to visit a station to get acquainted with the device. A MSI 3 Station is available for this purpose, and regular screening will be available during peak times.
